A Life of Love and Grace
Our loving mother, grandmother, cousin, friend, and model citizen departed this life on August 25, 2022. Though she was blessed with many years among us, it still feels as though she left too soon, for her heart carried a depth of love that could never be measured. She had a gentle way about her, touching the lives of everyone who crossed her path with kindness, warmth, and sincerity.
Dear Mama, your presence was a gift beyond words, and your memory will forever remain alive in our hearts. We will cherish every moment shared with you, from the laughter to the quiet conversations, and hold tightly to the love you so freely gave. Your spirit will continue to guide and comfort us. Sleep peacefully, our love, in the bosom of the Lord, until we meet again.
A Legacy That Lives On
She dedicated over 35 years of her life as a high school teacher, shaping generations with patience, wisdom, and unwavering commitment. Her students loved and respected her, a reflection of the passion she poured into her work and the genuine care she showed to each child. Beyond the classroom, she found joy in fashion and gardening, embracing beauty, creativity, and life’s simple pleasures whenever time allowed.
She also cherished her visits to Barbados, where she lived for a short time and created memories that remained close to her heart. She leaves to mourn Rapheal, daughter Erica, stepdaughter Paulette, stepson Patrick, along with her sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of relatives and friends. Though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy of love, strength, and grace will continue to live on in all who knew her.

I miss you so much already. You were my best friend and my favorite person in the whole world. Life will never be the same without you, and it hurts to know that you’ll never see me get married or have children of my own one day. I can only hope that if I do, I’ll be half the grandma and mom you were to me.
Thank you for teaching me to be the woman I am today, and thank you for always being a great role model to me. You showed me how to overcome obstacles and achieve great things. You were always my biggest supporter, and you always believed in me. I remember the fun we had going away to cheer competitions together over the years as well as our many family picnics growing up. I’m so happy that I got to spend so much time with you over the past few years, and I will hold those memories close to my heart. Whenever I saw you on my days off work, you always asked if I had plans with friends because you didn’t want to get in the way of them, but the truth is you were the only person I wanted to hang out with we always had a good time together. It’s going to be so hard to not have you here, but I know you wouldn’t want me to be sad and struggling every day, so I’m going to do the best that I can to stay strong. I hope that when you’re watching over me I can keep making you proud. You are my hero and I’ll forever be grateful that I had you as a granny. I love you so much.
My condolences to my former work colleague, back in the early 80’s. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
